Can I swap a Honda Elite 80cc Motor For a 125cc honda motor?
I have a 2005 Honda Elite 80cc scooter The motor Has to be replaced,(Long Story) I want to swap out the 80cc motor With a 125cc motor if so, where can I get a new motor? Also need to Know if The 80cc motor can be rebored for a larger Piston Ect…. This Scooter only has 700 miles on it.
I don't think so, but you can check the mounting bolts to determine if they would fit WITHOUT adapters. The real question is the drive train, the CVT units have to be identical in size and attachment.
I think you can 'force fit' any conversion if you are determined to do so, but as a practical matter, I think this is not a 'go'… it would be worth checking the details I mentioned, getting a 125 in there would really give you a boost in performance.

http://www.scootertronics.com is a GREAT resource for the performance stuff, they will even swap engines with you, you send them yours, they send you back one set up like you want it! And if they don't have the parts to hop you up, I really would not know any other place to look…
you can not put a different motor in that frame. take the bike to the honda dealer and let them fix it. it only has 700 miles on it and you blew up the motor. dude you are a squid.

Yes the engine will fit. You may need to play with the sub frame a little using spacers, but that is really no big deal. The electrics are exactly the same so it is as simple as unlpugging one and plugging the new one in.
I put a 110cc Minarelli motor into a Genuine Buddy 50. I gas flowed and ported the motor, changed to a bigger Arreche carb (21mm) and put an expansion chmaber on it. It went from 30mph to 73mph top speed. Go to youtube and type in 110cc Buddy there are two videos filmed at night outside my house after a day of converting to the bigger engine. I did have to cut a brace on the frame. I put a new one on further forward of where the old one was.
The engine was longer and the rear wheel larger, so the mud flap on the rear of the bike had to be removed. I had to buy some half inch long bronze bushings for the motor mount. They have the bearing/bushings at Home Depot. It is very fast. I have also put a 150cc engine into a Honda Spree, that was only a days work too for the conversion. So yes you can put a 125 engine into your 80, no problem. I do this stuff every day.
