Shanghai Motors scooter help?

I have an opprotunity to by a used 2008 Shanghai Motors 250cc scooter with 1100 miles on it. Does anybody have any experience with this manufacturer? They claim to have the same engine as the similar Honda. It's under warenty, but the gas gauge as already gone bad. But it is going to be replaced. What do you think?

its not a honda engine but it is a GY6 same type. If you want to get into scooters its not a bad starter you do have to do alot of maintanance on the chinese scooters but they are cheap and pretty reliable.and parts are pretty easy to get .The jap scooters are more reliable but they are alot more expensive ……

  1. It does not have a Honda engine in it.
    Whoever is selling it is doing so because it is a crap bike.
    You will be better off buying a big name Jap bike.
    Honda. Yamaha. Kawasaki. Suzuki.
