Where is the oil fill cap on a Honda Elite 80 (1985) motor scooter?


It doesn't have one, per se - LOL
It's been awhile with that model. So don't quote me on this one -
On the left "side" of the engine.
In the front.
Is a large cap.
An allen wrench is used to remove it.
Fill the oil to the bottom of the hole with the bike on the center stand.
OR
This is probably the correct way.
The oil drain bolt is on the left "side" of the engine.
Near the bottom, sticks out from the engine, needs an allen wrench.
Drain the oil.
Measure the proper amount of oil in a measuring cup.
Lay the scooter over and pour in the oil.
That's the way the transmission oil is changed and filled (final drive).
The oil amount is in the owners manual and it might be stamped on the engine near the drain bolt.
If this is correct - the oil level doesn't need to be checked, because it's imperitive that you change the oil every 2000 miles.

I don't think my first explanation is correct.
I may know a lot, but I don't have to remember everything. That's why they make shop manuals.
Expert mechanics couldn't do their job without them.

Purchase a shop manual before they go out of print. You might have another question next year and no one will be able to give you an answer. Not even a motorcycle repair shop, because they throw out the old manuals to make room for the new ones. Most shops won't work on anything older than 10 years, so they don't need the shop manuals.
Please purchase a shop manual. Thank you.
